Why would the SDD cause trouble? I have one in my machine and it's fine.

This is my config

GA EX58 UD3R
Core i7 920
12Gb RAM
A few 7200 Barracuda Seagates
Geforce 9500gt (then I switched to a gtx 285 to accelerate premiere pro)

I use logic almost every day. I even had a post production project with almost a hundred tracks with lots of EQs and literally dozens of space designers... the machine responded perfectly. It was a joy working on it (except for the non logical workflows of logic).

Did u think the configuration would work fine ? I just think that the SSD could make trouble

A core i7 960 would probably cost less than the Xeon and the Plextor might prevent sleep, but other than that it looks good. I would go with the sony optiarc or the pioneer DVR-S18L fro the dvd-rw.

the prices here in Germany are nearly the same for both 1366 Intel CPUs, but at my dealer is current the Xeon W3565 Quad 3.2 cheaper than a i7 950 (4x3.06) . I have now also changed the Memory-Supplier, cause i have read in few Articles that Specially the (E)X-58 Series make some trouble with 6 RAMs so i have choose Kingston HyperX blue 24 GB Kit, its certified by GIgabyte to work with Full Banks. I have also removed the SSD and replaced her with a WD Velocity Raptor 10k - 150GB - 6 Years Warranty and 24/7 usage in nearly every Server on this Planet was argument enough for me, it also saves me a little bit Cash.

By the way, did the FIrewire Port works fine? I have a MOTU Fw Soundcard and would like to change
