Status update

Kakewalk 3.0 is coming along nicely. I have to do some more  tests with the motherboards that I actually have access to and  we’re all set.

The USB install method will no longer be available. The  reason for that decision is simply that it got too difficult to  maintain both the CD and USB versions.

Expect a release before the weekend.

Stay tuned, mrjanek

Kakewalk 3.0 WIP

Work in progress. More information soon!

Update

I’ll be adding a forum to puru.se for Kakewalk later tonight (CET). This thread is pretty crowded and hopefully the forum will bring some clarity.

I’ve also started working on a tool that will help the hackintosh savvy of you build packages for your motherboard and send a request for the motherboard’s and the package’s addition to Kakewalk. This will help a lot as the it is hard for me to keep up with all the changes as there are quite a few motherboards supported by kakewalk. It will also make it easier to add support for more motherboard models. I will review every request and add the ones that work to an ‘unstable’ version of Kakewalk. Once the package is fully working it will be added to the ‘stable’ version. Win!

I’ll also be spending some days next week to solve the sound issues.

Cheers, mrjanek

Egg boiler – iPhone application

Egg boilerIf you feel like supporting Kakewalk and its continued progress then  I would be very thankful if you’d consider buying ($0.99 USD) my recently launched app for iPhone – Egg boiler.

“Tired of not getting your eggs the way you want them?

Well, you’re in luck! Egg boiler cooks ‘em perfect every time!
Just choose the desired consistency, the egg temperature and egg boiler calculates the time needed for you to get perfect eggs. Start the countdown and your iPhone will signal when the eggs are done.

The application is very easy to use and even offers instructions if you’ve never boiled eggs before.”

Kakewalk: Status update

Hey everyone!

It’s been a while since Kakewalk 2.0 came out and I haven’t been actively developing Kakewalk for some time now. I’ve had a lot of work with my studies (interaction design) and haven’t been able to work with Kakewalk as much as I’d like.
However, the worst is over and I know have a lot of time over to do some hacking again.

Lately I’ve been thinking of a slipstream solution. A solution where you would combine an update (example 10.6.3) with the Snow Leopard Disk image and Kakewalk. I’ve also been thinking of a preference pane for Kakewalk but I’m not sure if it would serve any purpose. These are just ideas and I will evaluate them and see if they’re any good. If you come up with any idea on how to improve Kakewalk please reply.

Oh, and regarding the issues with 10.6.3 – there will be an update soon
Stay tuned, mrjanek
